Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children is the largest free of charge Pediatric Hospital in Sri Lanka. It serves as the national referral center for pediatric care for Sri Lanka. Once deemed to be the largest Children’s Hospital in South Asia, Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children (LRH) is working with a vision of becoming the best health care center for children in South Asia by 2025.

Lady Ridgeway Hospital is a gift from the colloquial rule of the English. During the period 1890-1895 when Sir Arthur Havelock was Governor of Ceylon, one of his greatest achievements was making available many advances and new opportunities in medical science to the island’s inhabitants. Until the 19th Century, children were treated as miniature adults before pediatrics emerged as a specialty…
