Accident Service at LRH was established in 2000. Located at the ground floor of new building. Access through Maradana entrance. We are open 24 hours 365 days and cater children under 14 years from all over the country. We treat about 45000 patients per year at accident service LRH.

We have competent staff to provide immediate emergency management of any injury and services of general surgeon, orthopaedic surgeon, plastic surgeon, ENT surgeon, eye surgeon are available at hand.

We have a reception area with triaging facilities, OPD (Outpatient Department), Emergency treatment unit, Observation ward, Anti rabies clinic and orthopaedic clinic.
We provide emergency management of any accidents, including home accidents (eg: falls, burns, crush injuries, cut injuries etc), Road traffic accidents, animal bites (dog, cat) including vaccination for Rabies.
We do carryout radiological investigation including X-rays, Ultra sound scans, CT scans, MRI scans and other necessary bio chemical investigations.
- For bleeding injury – Direct continuous pressure over the site will minimize bleeding. Keep crushed ice over the traumatic area
- In the case of animal bite wash the wound with soap and running water. Bring the child to the hospital as early as possible (Hospital is open 24 hours). Please bring the vaccination card of the patient and the animal.
- In the case of burns wash the area with normal water preferably running water more than 24 minutes.
- Do not give anything by mouth until seen by the doctor.
