Welcome to the department of Plastic , Hand and Reconstructive Surgery at Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children. Ours is the only Paediatric Plastic surgery unit in Sri Lanka and has been serving the children since 2003 . We see children with a wide range of problems, both present at birth (congenital) or developed later eg . Trauma( Accidents) and Burns. Our vision is to provide clinical excellence in the field of paediatric plastic and reconstructive surgery.
We are proud to be the most comprehensive Multidiciplinary Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery team providing high quality care to 280-300 newborns per year. We are the only paediatric burns unit in Sri Lanka serving the entire country. Our services are enhanced by expert collaboration with Orthopaedic surgery, ENT, Paediatric surgery and Radiology.
Our medical team comprises of two consultants, two senior registrars, five medical officers supported by a specialised nursing team, speech and language therapist, hand and occupational therapist and junior staff.
